PRONUNCIATION, STRESS, AND INTONATION OF AMERICAN ENGLISH

(ACCENT REDUCTION CLASS)

The goal of this class is to help students improve their intelligibility when they speak English and reduce their native language accents. Students learn how to correctly produce and practice the individual sounds, syllable stress, word stress, rhythm, intonation, and features of connected speech in American English.  Additionally, pronunciation instruction has a positive effect on listening comprehension.  This class is designed for students who have an intermediate to advanced level of English proficiency.  There are two sessions of this class.
