The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Preparation classes are designed for students who need to prepare to take the TOEFL test or want to improve their scores. These classes focus on test-taking strategies and four of the basic academic skills required to improve test scores: note-taking, paraphrasing, summarizing, and synthesizing. Students practice each test section (i.e. reading, listening, speaking, and writing) in class and on the computer. In addition, students will learn how the test is scored and strategies for improving scores. By the end of the course, students are very familiar with the anatomy of the test, the tasks required, and strategies for success. These classes are available for students with a high intermediate to advanced level of English proficiency.
