Intensive and Immersion programs are designed to teach the equivalent of levels 1 to 5 of the Institute's regular core programs in one 8-week or 4-week, 120-hour session. Classes meet Monday through Friday, 3 hours a day for intensive programs and 6 hours a day for immersion programs. Intensive programs are offered in 8-week main sessions and immersion programs are offered in 4-week accelerated sessions.

The main goal of these programs, which meet in small classes of 4 to 12, is to help students, from day one, to increase confidence in their ability to use their new language in a wide range of real-life situations and improve their oral skills as they progress from level to level.

Upon completion of an intensive or an immersion program, students can expect to feel comfortable speaking in a variety of situations and to have gained a solid understanding of the grammatical, structural and cultural aspects of the language.

Immersion Programs can be customized and offered privately or semi-privately. A customized course meets for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and is normally organized in one- to eight-week sessions. The programs are taught by a team of two to four instructors, who carefully select materials and plan lessons to effectively meet student goals and individual learning style. Since these are private programs, they may begin at any time with a minimum of two weeks’ notice.

We also organize private programs of fewer than 40 hours per week.

Intensive and immersion programs are regularly offered in Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Japanese.
