The Boston Language Institute
Since 1981, The Boston Language Institute has provided instruction and translation services in more than 140 languages, including English as a Second Language, to over 74,000 students and corporate clients. Since 2000, the Institute’s internationally recognized TEFL Certificate Program has trained over 2300 English teachers, who now form a world-wide network in over 30 countries, including the United States. The Wall Street Journal has lauded this program as “one of the better known programs in the country.”
At any one time, we are teaching 45 to 50 languages in evening, weekday and Saturday sessions, both in private lessons and small classes of 4 to 12 students. Instruction takes place both at the Institute in Kenmore Square and on-site at corporate locations. We employ the Communicative Approach, which can be summarized as developing student performance using every aspect of language learning – speaking, reading, writing and comprehension -- to support the others. Exploring the culture, a feature of all of our programs, places the language in its context.
Many of our 120 skilled and experienced instructors have served the Institute for 5 to 15 or more years and some over 20. No small number are graduates of our TEFL Certificate Program.
If you honor us by choosing to learn a language at The Boston Language Institute, we promise you an experience of excellence that even you may not have anticipated.
